Welcome to the homepage for the 2025 Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists in the United Kingdom. The nomination period has been extended until Wednesday, 6th June 2024. Letters of Support are due by Wednesday, 12th June 2024.
The Blavatnik Family Foundation and The New York Academy of Sciences are delighted to embark on the eighth year of the Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists in the United Kingdom. These awards celebrate the past accomplishments and future potential of young academic staff researchers working in three disciplinary categories of science and engineering: Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering, and Chemical Sciences. Every year, one nominee in each category will be named a Blavatnik Awards in the UK Laureate. Each Laureate will be awarded £100,000 in unrestricted funds. In addition, two Finalists in each category will each receive £30,000 in unrestricted funds. Awards will be conferred at the Blavatnik Awards in the UK ceremony in London, UK in Spring 2025.
Institutional nominations must be submitted by the institution’s leadership (President, Provost, Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor), or their official designee (official designees must notify BlavatnikAwardsUK@nyas.org of the delegation of responsibilities). Each institution may nominate up to three individuals, one for each disciplinary category (Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering, and Chemical Sciences). The Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists in the United Kingdom welcomes and encourages nominations from all underrepresented groups in science and engineering. Self-nominations are not permitted.
